Bungalow replacement plans withdrawn
Plans to replace an ageing bunglalow next to a popular park have been withdrawn by The Wrekin Housing Group.
The plans to demolish the bungalow on Haygate Road were submitted in December, with a view to build two semi-detached, three-bed properties in it’s place.
One key objection to the proposals was an objection by Telford & Wrekin Council who expressed concern about the drainage.
In their objection, they commented “The proposed dwelling is in an area of high surface water flood risk and as such will require an FRA (Flood Risk Assessment) to justify an intensification of use on the plot.
“There is recent flood history from a culverted watercourse feature which is thought to pass through the grounds.”
The new development plans included car parking for up to 10 people, which triggered another objection from a neighbour: “Current parking is at the front of the plot on the roadside as is typical for the layout of properties on the road.
“The proposed parking to the rear of the plot, against the boundary for our rear garden, will be a significant increase in both air and noise pollution.”
Disruption during any building work was also highlighted by the council highways department who, despite not objecting, imposed conditions on the plans “Development shall not take place until details for the parking, turning, loading and unloading of vehicles have been submitted to and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority.”
The property is currently empty, so revised plans are expected to be submitted in due course.
