Cuckoo Oak pub to receive six-figure makeover

The Cuckoo Oak pub in Madeley is preparing for a fresh start this year as it undergoes a six-figure investment.

The Hungry Horse venue on Bridgnorth Road will close its doors on 12 January to allow the renovation work to begin.

It is expected to reopen to the public in February with an updated look for both the interior and exterior.

Plans for the refurbishment include an updated bar area and a new self-serve coffee machine. The restaurant area will be made open-plan to create more space for visitors.

Fans of live sport will find a new pool table and darts area, along with upgraded television screens for watching matches.

The front and side gardens are also being updated with new lighting, signage and furniture for those eating outdoors.
