Dashcam appeal after collision at retail park
A runner is appealing for dashcam footage after being hit by a car while using a zebra crossing at the Forge Retail Park on Friday afternoon.
Kevin Anton was out for a run between 4pm and 4.30pm when the incident happened at the entrance and exit of the retail park.
He was struck by a dark blue car that was leaving the park.
Mr Anton said: “I was hit by a car on a run while crossing the zebra crossing.
“It happened at Forge Retail Park. I have drivers name and number also police are aware & but please, any footage or witness can you come forward.”
Because an ambulance was estimated to be several hours away, Mr Anton was taken to hospital by other means.
He remains in a stable condition while being treated for his injuries.
He is now asking anyone who was in the area at the time to check their cameras. He believes many drivers now have dashcams that may have captured the dark blue vehicle involved.
Police are expected to visit Mr Anton once he has been discharged from hospital.
Witnesses should contact the police with any information.
