New radio station set to launch in Telford

A new radio station serving Telford and the surrounding Shropshire area is preparing to begin broadcasting early this year.

TCMR has a projected launch date of Monday 2nd February and will be available across the region on the DAB multiplex.

The station, which received its licence from Ofcom in October 2025, will also be accessible via smart speakers and the station website.

Experienced broadcasters are behind the new venture. The team includes presenters who have previously worked at Beacon Shropshire, Radio Caroline, and BBC Radio 2, as well as other local stations across the West Midlands and Mid Wales.

Listeners can expect a music mix covering the 70s, 80s, and 90s, alongside hits from the last two decades and various album tracks.

Local news will be broadcast eight times a day. National and international updates will also air every hour on the hour to keep the town informed.
