Presenter line-up revealed for new Telford radio station
The operators the new Telford radio station have revealed some of the presenters that they have lined up, and also some of the features they have planned.
Austin Powell, andl experienced radio station boss told Telford Live about the plans for the station due to launch next month.
Mr Powell has a CV full of radio jobs and a black book of contacts that he’s dusting off for TCMR, the name of the new station. He told Telford Live “I was at the original Beacon Radio, then Manx Radio and was boss of both Sunshine 855 in Ludlow and Radio Maldwyn in Mid Wales.
“I’ve spent all my life in the music / record and radio businesses.”
Mr Powell went on to reveal some of the shows and the DJs presenting them. “Tony Paul, ex Beacon Radio will do the Breakfast Show.
“Julian Saunders is doing weekend breakfast shows – he’s ex-Sunshine 855, Beacon Radio and Fosseway Radio in Lincolnshire where he did the Breakfast Show.
“Simon Doe is currently doing mid-mornings on Dales Radio in Yorkshire, but is going to do our Drive Time show Monday to Friday.
“David Yarnall, another ex-Beacon Radio man who has also been on several BBC local stations and Radio 2 is doing shows for us and
“Nick Parton was at Radio Maldwyn in Mid Wales and on Cannock Chase Radio will do the mid-week evening show.”
“The music output is designed to appeal to the widest audience aged 35+.” he said.
