Travel firm offers free lifts for NHS workers as snow warning issued
Above and Beyond Travel based in Telford are usually dropping people off at airports, or taking children to school, but tomorrow, they are pulling out all the stops for health workers.
Director Kayleigh Parsons is offering lifts to health workers in one of the 4x4s in her fleet if Telford gets a covering of snow on Friday. The midlands is included in the latest Met Office yellow warning.
She told Telford Live “If you are NHS staff and are struggling to get to or from work due to the potential dumping of snow, we will do our best to help where we can.”
The company have said that there will be no charge for this service.
Instead, they are requesting a voluntary donation to PODS (Parents Opening Doors), a local charity supporting families.
“This isn’t about profit.” said Kayleigh, “It’s about community, care, and making sure essential workers can do their jobs safely.
“I know first hand how difficult it can be when theres not enough people to help at hospitals.
“Over the years our family has spent a lot of time in and out and I think its just good to do a bit extra to help those who have helped us in the past.”
