Valentine’s campaign puts Shifnal’s local businesses in the spotlight
Shifnal is embracing the Valentine’s spirit with a town-wide initiative encouraging residents to show their love for local businesses. Running from Monday 2 February to Saturday 14 February, the campaign aims to celebrate the traders who help make Shifnal’s high street thrive.
Businesses across the town are taking part in the scheme, which invites customers to share their appreciation for their favourite local shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.
Jenna Humphreys from Love Shifnal said the Valentine’s promotion is designed to bring people into town while also giving local businesses a boost through positive social media exposure. She explained, “Customers are being encouraged to take a photo of themselves at their favourite Shifnal business while holding a Love Shifnal Valentine’s card. They can then send the photo to us along with a few words explaining why they value the service they receive from that business.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing lots of photos and kind comments about the wonderful independent businesses we have here. It’s been lovely to see so many traders keen to get involved.”
Everyone who takes part will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 voucher for a romantic meal for two, in true Valentine’s style, at Shifnal Balti. The voucher must be used within six months.
The prize is being supported by Shifnal Balti, which recently celebrated an impressive 31 years in business. The popular restaurant recently marked the milestone with a special evening of entertainment, welcoming George Michael tribute act Adrian Michaels (as pictured) for a celebratory performance, which was enjoyed by customers dining on the night.
Faz Ali, manager of Shifnal Balti, said he was delighted to be supporting the promotion. He said, “We’re really pleased to be taking part in the Valentine’s promotion this year. It’s a lovely way for customers to show their support for local businesses, and it genuinely means a lot to receive that appreciation as a Shifnal business owner.
“It’s also a great opportunity for customers to win a meal for two simply by taking a photo and getting involved. We’re proud to be contributing a prize that celebrates our local businesses and helps bring people together this Valentine’s.”
The campaign highlights the strong relationship between Shifnal’s traders and the local community, encouraging residents to shop local and celebrate the businesses that make the town special.
