Vape in toilet triggers Southwater fire alarm

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received the call at 9.01pm and sent one fire appliance from the Telford Central station.

Upon arrival, crews discovered the activation was a false alarm caused by someone vaping in the toilets.

Firefighters remained on the scene for around 12 minutes before sending their stop message at 9.13pm.

In another incident, 2 fire appliances were mobilised from Telford Central and Wellington to Pool Meadow in Hadley.

This incident was a false alarm caused by a deodorant being used under detector head.
