Car fire causes delays on M54
Firefighters were called to a vehicle fire on the M54 this afternoon. The incident happened on the eastbound carriageway between Junction 3 (Albrighton) and Junction 2 (Wolverhampton).
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received the call at 2:43 pm. Two appliances were sent to the scene from Albrighton and Telford Central stations. An operations officer also attended.
Crews found a car with a fire located in the engine bay. Firefighters used one breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to put out the flames.
The Highways Agency attended the scene to assist with traffic management. Motorists experienced some delays while the emergency services dealt with the vehicle.
