Half term events announced for Hockerhill playbarn
Hockerhill Adventure Playbarn in Brewood has announced a schedule of events for the February half term, featuring character visits and seasonal food.
The venue is hosting a Valentine’s Day afternoon tea on 14 February, followed by pancake building on 17 February. Visitors can also mark Chinese New Year from 17 to 27 February with a themed menu and lantern making crafts.
The attraction is introducing character appearances at no extra cost to standard entry. Chase from Paw Patrol will visit on the afternoon of 16 February, and Princess Elsa from Frozen is scheduled for a sing-along on 21 February.
Tessa Giffard, co-owner of Hockerhill Adventure Playbarn, said: “With many seasonal days and different celebrations including Valentine’s Day, Pancake Day and Chinese New Year falling with the half term school holidays, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to create a vibrant programme of events for our visiting families and groups to enjoy.
“Our chefs have been working particularly hard to curate delicious menus that celebrate all these occasions, whilst our playbarn team is looking forward to hosting some VIP guests that we’re sure will delight little ones.”
The Valentine’s menu includes heart-shaped biscuits and red velvet cake, with a children’s version featuring mini milkshakes. On Pancake Day, visitors can customise their own pancakes for £6 with various toppings and sauces.
The indoor play area features a giant mock oak tree inspired by the history of Boscobel House, alongside slides, bridges and pedal go-karts. Outdoor zip lines and a sand pit also remain open for the holidays.
General manager Sophie Galantini said: “As the February weather can still be a little unpredictable, we have put a lot of thought into our extra indoor activities to bring joy to what can feel like a bleak month for some. This year, we’re really encouraging families to soak up our wholesome and energetic atmosphere and enjoy delicious food and good company.”
Tickets for play sessions start from £7.50 for adults and £8.50 for children. The Valentine’s Day Afternoon Tea is priced at £25 for adults and £15 for children, which includes play area access.
