HR in focus at Shropshire Chamber event
Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is bringing together HR professionals, managers and business owners for a special event this month to share insights and discuss the latest workplace challenges.
The next HR in Focus session will be held on Tuesday February 24, from 9.30am to 11.30am, at The Shropshire in Muxton, Telford.
It forms part of the Chamber’s ongoing series of HR events, designed to unite representatives from across the county to exchange practical insights, explore emerging trends and examine the evolving issues facing today’s workplaces.
Created as a collaborative forum, HR in Focus gives attendees the opportunity to share best practice, deepen their understanding of key people-related topics, and build meaningful professional connections.
Kelly Riedel, head of member success at the Chamber, said delegates would be welcomed with a relaxed networking opportunity to meet peers, make new contacts and set the tone for a productive morning.
“In any workplace, HR so often shoulders the blame when issues arise – but this thought-provoking session will examine where accountability truly lies, and how organisations can move away from reactive problem-solving.”
Against the backdrop of the Umbrella Reforms and the introduction of the Fair Work Agency, the session will explore how HR teams can reposition themselves as strategic partners – proactively addressing barriers, engaging stakeholders and contributing to holistic workforce management.
Guest speakers include Julie Barrow-Read, founder and governance specialist at RedWizard Consulting, and Jack Spencer, founder and workforce specialist at Freeflexer.
