New clothing brand from young Telford entrepreneur
Finley, an 11-year-old football fan from Telford, has launched his own clothing brand while searching for answers to a mystery illness.
The youngster was first taken to hospital in 2024 after passing out during a cross country race. Although initially diagnosed with asthma, his condition worsened four months later. Finley began suffering from severe stomach aches, headaches, and exhaustion, leading to countless blood tests and hospital visits for low heart rate and low blood sugar.
Despite being poked and prodded by medics on a daily basis, his family say he still gets up with a smile on his face. The illness has taken a toll on his mental health, as the lack of energy means he can no longer play football or see his friends as often as he would like.
Finley decided a month ago that he wanted to create something to help others in similar positions. He has now launched L8N, a clothing brand featuring the slogan “Strong even when resting” to reflect his own journey.
His parents said: “So with immense pride for our boy I introduce you to L8N clothing brand. We are so proud of him and the thought process behind it. Don’t let being poorly define who you are!”
The t-shirts will be on sale for £9.99. Finley has decided to donate £1 from every sale to the children’s hospital in Telford.
