Oak Furniture Land Clearance store to shut
The Oak Furniture Land clearance store at the Bridge Retail Park in Telford is set to close its doors for the final time.
After a decade of trading in the town, the team confirmed they will be moving out around the end of March.
Management announced the news this week, explaining that no further stock deliveries will be arriving at the site.
This follows news that planning permission was sought to transform the unit into a gym facility for an unnamed operator.
In a statement to their customers, the team said: “It is with regret that after approximately 10 years we have the sad news that unfortunately our store is closing in Telford. We would like to thank all our customers over the years, old, returning and new for all your support.”
Owners of the retail park on Colliers Way, Telford Property Ltd, previously applied for a certificate of lawfulness for Unit 4B.
A planning agent for the owners stated that an agreement was already in place with a gym operator to take over the space.
Staff at the furniture store confirmed that only items currently on the shop floor are available for purchase.
While further reductions may be posted on social media closer to the closing date, the current promotion remains a 10% discount when buying three items.
The statement continued: “We will be closing the store around the end of March and as such will be taking no more deliveries of stock, so unless it is something that is here, it won’t be coming.
“Thank you and best wishes from the Telford Oak Furniture Clearance Team.”
