Award-winning Stockton House announces final wedding showcase of the season
Couples searching for the perfect backdrop to their big day have one final chance this weekend to explore one of Shropshire’s most prestigious venues before it closes its doors to showcases until the autumn.
The Grade II listed Stockton House, an 18th-century Georgian gem located on the A442 between Telford and Bridgnorth, is hosting its final open event this Sunday, 8 March, ahead of a fully booked summer season.
The event, running from 11am to 3pm, marks the last opportunity for prospective newlyweds to view the house in a showcase format until October 2026.
For the first time, the showcase will feature a new line-up of suppliers, including JOL Photography, JOL Videography, and Through the Lens with Marvin Marius. They will join a curated selection of florists, cake makers, and bridal boutiques, all set against the backdrop of the latest 2026 décor trends.
Venue Manager Amy Applegarth said: “Our wedding showcases are always eagerly anticipated. This is our last one until the end of 2026 so we’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors to our amazing venue.
“Stockton House has become the go-to wedding venue for so many people who know that we always go the extra mile for our couples and that they are guaranteed a great day to remember, but we are still Shropshire’s best kept secret as we are still relatively new as a venue.”
The venue, which sits within the 8,000-acre Apley Estate, has quickly climbed the ranks of the wedding industry since its renovation in 2022. It recently scooped a silver award in the Best of Bridebook Awards 2026, following similar success in 2025.
Other accolades include being named Best Venue (Other) at The Wedding Industry Awards 2024 and reaching the finals for best team and venue in the 2026 West Midlands Wedding Industry Awards.
Visitors will be able to explore the ceremony areas both inside and out, including the Secret Garden and the unique Victorian Turning House. The Stockton House team will also be on hand to discuss bespoke requirements while guests sample the food and drink options available for 2026 weddings.
“Our showcase provides all the information that couples need in planning their wedding,” Amy added. “We’re delighted to welcome some new suppliers for the first time this weekend as well as welcoming back other known and trusted suppliers too.”
Couples are welcome to drop in on the day or book a place in advance to ensure they don’t miss out on this final viewing opportunity before the autumn.
