Deadline is looming for business awards entries
The deadline is looming for entries to this year’s Shropshire Chamber of Commerce business awards – where more than 450 tickets have already been reserved for this summer’s presentation evening.
Entries for the showpiece awards close on Friday April 17, and finalists will be revealed at the Chamber’s spring expo event on April 23.
Winners will be crowned at a glittering black-tie ceremony at Telford’s International Centre on June 19, which will once again be the largest event on the Shropshire business calendar
Entry details can be found at www.shropshirechamberbusinessawards.com. Companies can apply for a maximum of three awards.
The competition is free to enter, and open to any business with an operational base in either the county of Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin – whether or not they are a Chamber member.
There are 14 awards on offer this year, including the showpiece company of the year title, and returning categories for new businesses, small businesses, outstanding customer service, and innovation.
Also returning this year are awards for community champion, outstanding business growth, excellence in manufacturing and engineering, retail leisure and hospitality achievement, and young businessperson of the year.
New for 2026 is a ‘best place to work’ award, while eco-friendly companies can apply for a new-look sustainability achievement prize.
The Chamber has also decided to bring back a tourism category this year to recognise organisations that deliver outstanding visitor experiences and showcase the very best of the local tourism sector.
Shropshire Chamber chief executive Ruth Ross said: “Ever since the awards were launched in 2001, they have been a highlight of the local business calendar, and this year will be no different.”
