Escaped prisoner apprehended in Apley

West Mercia Police officers went door to door yesterday after a man they arrested made off from A&E.

Police said “A 34-year-old man who was wanted on recall to prison was arrested by officers yesterday.

“When officers located the man he was found with injuries and was escorted to the Princess Royal Hospital for treatment.

“He absconded from the hospital but was later located on Saxon Court in Telford and arrested on suspicion of escaping from lawful custody.”
