New nature trail launched as egg-citement builds for Easter

A new nature trail is to be launched this month as egg-citement builds for Easter activities taking place at a Shropshire destination.

The natural trail at Apley Farm Shop, on the A442 between Telford and Bridgnorth, has been designed in the surrounding fields with interactive points for walkers to discover more about surrounding countryside, animals and more.

Posts about the reinvented natural trail, which replaces the previous trail there, have attracted thousands of views on social media and the first chance to experience the attraction is during Easter when additional activities are taking place.

Daniel Morton, Operations Manager at Apley Estate, said: “We are very excited to launch our new nature trail at Apley Farm Shop.

“Work has been ongoing for a couple of months and the trail route is just over a mile long, winding through our beautiful grounds.

“The fabulous, updated attraction is the perfect way to spend some quality time together – you might even work up an appetite to have a bite to eat in the café after!

“We are thrilled that the new route has been finished in time to be part of our Easter events too, it will be the perfect setting for an Easter trail through the woodlands to find the Easter Bunny.”

The Easter Trail activities include maps and clues with two choices of route for families who want to explore the grounds and celebrate the occasion.

A Hide and Seek ticket includes a 2km search around the Natural Trail suitable for children aged five plus.

Or a Play and Find Experience has a shorter trail around the farm shop and one hour and 30 minutes in the Playbarn at the site, suitable for children aged five and under.

Both tickets include a self lead Easter Trail with clues along the way, a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny and a chocolate surprise for each child.

Entrance is available daily at 10am, 12pm or 2pm from March 28 to April 5 and the Easter Bunny will visit children for the last 30 minutes of each booked timeslot, ready for once children have completed the trail.

Due to the nature of the trail being situated on farmland, buggies may find the terrain difficult and those attending are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing as the Easter trail is outdoors.
