Sutton Hill man sentenced for pizza shop damage and disorderly behaviour

A Telford man has appeared before magistrates following a series of incidents in the town late last year, including an attack on a local pizza takeaway and disorderly conduct at a town centre pub.

Ryan Jenkins, 26, of Shawfield Close, Sutton Hill, was sentenced at Telford Magistrates’ Court on 25 February 2026.

The court heard that on 21 November 2025, Jenkins caused £1,000 worth of damage to Perfect Pizza in Oakengates. Magistrates were told he acted without lawful excuse, intending to destroy or damage the property or being reckless as to whether it would be destroyed.

Following this incident, Jenkins was released on bail but failed to surrender to custody at Shropshire Magistrates’ Court on 19 December 2025, a breach of the Bail Act 1976.

The charges also related to an incident on Saturday, 29 November 2025, where Jenkins was found guilty of disorderly behaviour while drunk at the Wrekin Giant in Telford.

For the criminal damage charge, Jenkins was handed a community order lasting until 24 February 2027. This includes a requirement to participate in up to 25 days of rehabilitation activities as directed by a responsible officer.

He was ordered to pay £300 in compensation and a £50 fine. The court noted that a guilty plea was taken into account during sentencing.

No separate penalties were issued for the bail surrender failure or the drunk and disorderly charge. Magistrates decided not to impose a victim surcharge, citing Jenkins’ limited means and the fact that compensation to the business was being prioritised.
