Teenager banned from the roads after riding dangerously
A 19 year-old from Much Wenlock has been handed a driving ban and ordered to carry out unpaid work following an incident of dangerous driving on one of Telford’s most notorious junctions.
Archie D’Arcy Watson, of Lake House Farm, East Wall, appeared before Telford Magistrates’ Court on 5 March 2026 to face a single charge of driving a motor vehicle dangerously.
The court heard that on 27 October 2025, Watson was riding a KTM Duke 125 motorcycle on the A442 at Trench Lock when the offence occurred.
Magistrates took Watson’s guilty plea into account during the sentencing. He was issued a community order which will run until 4 March 2027. As part of this order, Watson is required to complete 150 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
In addition to the community service, Watson was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months. He was informed that he must pass an extended driving test before he is permitted to return to the roads.
The court also ordered Watson to pay £85.00 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a victim surcharge of £114.00.
A collection order was made, with the full balance of £199.00 required to be paid by 2 April 2026.
