Telford business shortlisted for prestigious national award
A Telford company has been named as a finalist in the British Business Awards 2026, placing the town’s innovation in the national spotlight alongside some of the world’s most recognisable brands.
The event is set to feature a special guest appearance and conversation with Academy Award-winning actor and humanitarian George Clooney.
Aviramp, based in Telford, has secured a spot on the shortlist for the Business Innovation of the Year award.
The awards, held in association with NatWest, saw a record-breaking entry of more than 400 companies this year. Aviramp will compete against a diverse range of UK enterprises at a star-studded ceremony at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on 30 April 2026.
The event is set to feature a special guest appearance and conversation with Academy Award-winning actor and humanitarian George Clooney.
Shortlisted companies were evaluated on business performance, innovation, workforce culture, customer impact, and their contribution to the wider economy. By making the list, the Telford firm also gains a place on the inaugural British Business Leaders List, a new designation for organisations setting benchmarks for modern enterprise.
The judging panel is led by high-profile industry figures, including former Unilever CEO Alan Jope CBE and Coutts Bank CEO Emma Crystal. Mr Jope commented on the high standard of this year’s entrants, stating: “The calibre of companies on the shortlist is extraordinary, and our job as judges is simply to maintain the highest standards and ensure that truly outstanding businesses emerge as the winners.”
The ceremony will also feature keynote speaker Sir Bob Geldof and co-hosts Rob Brydon and Elaine C Smith. Beyond the accolades, the event aims to raise over £1 million for the homelessness charity Social Bite.
Rick Haythornthwaite, NatWest Group Chair, said: “Businesses like these are central to our economy, creating jobs, driving innovation, and supporting communities. We look forward to celebrating the ambition, creativity and excellence that is at the heart of so many great British businesses in Edinburgh next month.”
Josh Littlejohn MBE, the Event Director and founder of Social Bite, added that it was brilliant to see businesses of multiple sectors and sizes represented on the list as the business community prepares for the celebration in Scotland.
