Telford man banned from driving for four years
A Telford man has been handed a lengthy driving disqualification following an appearance at Telford Magistrates’ Court on 6 March 2026.
Jai Evans, 27, of Pauline Close, was sentenced after failing to provide a specimen for analysis during a police investigation.
The court heard that on 3 January 2026, Evans was suspected of having driven a vehicle in Telford. When required to provide a specimen of blood for a laboratory test as part of an investigation into a potential driving offence, he failed to do so without reasonable excuse.
Evans pleaded guilty to the charge, and the court took this into account during sentencing.
Magistrates imposed a community order running until 5 March 2027, which includes a requirement to participate in up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity under the supervision of the probation service.
In addition to the community order, Evans was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 48 months. He was also ordered to pay a fine of £100 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
