New Starbucks In Telford donates first day sales to local charity

The new Starbucks, which has recently opened on Wrekin Retail Park, celebrated its first day in business by gifting 100% of their first day’s sales to Shropshire Youth Support Trust (SYST). This was a total of £872.47.

In addition, the newly opened Starbucks has selected SYST as their nominated charity for the next 12 months, committing to support and raise awareness of the trust’s work with young people across the region.

“Community is something that we are very passionate about here at Café Fortune and Starbucks. Since we opened our first store just over 10 years ago, we have partnered with many local charities, donating our first day’s sales for each store we open. SYST in particular spoke to me as we give opportunities and skills to a lot of young people, so I love what they’re doing and we’re excited to be working with them over the next 12 months.” said Victoria Hamilton, Store Manager at Starbucks Wrekin Retail Park.

Shropshire Youth Support Trust, based locally in Telford, helps young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) find direction through mentoring, workshops, and support to build a more confident, brighter future.

Darren Duffy (Head of Charity at SYST) comments, “We are extremely grateful to this new Starbucks store for choosing to support our charity. Their donation will have a direct positive impact on the lives and careers of young people in our local community.”
