Arrest after cannabis grow discovered in Telford

A cannabis grow estimated to be worth £100,000 was discovered in Telford this morning.

Officers from Telford’s Proactive CID team executed the warrant at an address in the Sutton Hill area, where they discovered 129 cannabis plants spread across three rooms.

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of the production of cannabis. He remains in police custody as enquiries continue.

This warrant forms part of Neighbourhood Policing Week, which the force is celebrating by highlighting some of the work local officers do.

Detective Sergeant Andy Pond, said: “Cannabis farms such as this are often linked to serious and organised crime gangs, human trafficking, the exploitation of vulnerable people, and can present significant fire safety risks to the people in the surrounding area.

“This warrant sends a clear message, that we will not tolerate criminal activity within our communities.”

The local community can help us by continuing to report any signs of criminal activity – the easiest way to do this is on our website. Any bit of information, no matter how small it may seem, could help make a big difference. You can report online.
