Telford Actress Revs Up for F1 Film

A Telford-born actress, Rosie Dwyer, has landed a role in the highly anticipated film, F1: The Movie, cementing her place among Hollywood’s rising stars. Rosie, who attended Madeley Academy, is already known for her appearances in Death on the Nile, Sex Education, and BBC Three’s The A List.

Rosie, born on 22nd July 1996, announced her involvement on Instagram, telling her followers: “Ya girl from Telford is in one of Hollywood’s biggest films.” Both her parents continue to reside in the town, a testament to her local roots.

F1: The Movie stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 driver who makes a dramatic return to the sport to mentor a promising young rookie, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), at the fictional Apex Grand Prix team. The film blends high-stakes racing action with a character-driven story, having been filmed with unprecedented access to real F1 events and featuring genuine on-track footage alongside appearances from real drivers and personnel.

Her friend, Ashleigh Fletcher, spoke to Telford Live, expressing immense pride: “We are all so absolutely proud of Rosie. She has always been destined to be a star. Even when she was in primary school she featured on the front of a BBC Shropshire brochure. Such a clever, beautiful, witty soul. Her friends and family are extremely proud of what she’s achieved and we can’t wait to see what else she can accomplish. We are all supporting you girl!”
