The unchanged interior of the Clock Tower

Well, it’s back open…

The Clock Tower closed just before fathers day, as the new owners of both the ex-Brewers Fayre pub and the ex-Premier Inn took over.

Charter Hotels are now operating the site and you can book hotel rooms online and use the Clock Tower for breakfast, even though they are currently in a state of transition.

The menus are on the table and there is cold beer in the pipes, but it does have an aura that suggests I sneaked in and wasn’t supposed to be there.

The old signs have been taken down and the new ones not quite put up yet. You will recognise the place if you had been in before. There has not been any refurbishment work carried out.

I’d give it a week or two before I went again, but a glimmer of hope is the new Sunday Carvery.  Definitely worth calling ahead if you are going for food. At least it’s open and trading.

The Clock Tower is on the A518 at Muxton, by McDonalds.
