Transformer coming through Telford – update
On Sunday, the transformer being carried through Telford to the site of the old power station will start the final leg of its journey.
At around 2pm the Colletts oversize truck will leave the M54 at J7 Cluddley and make it’s way toward Atcham on the old A5 before turning off towards Wroxeter, Buildwas and onto the bridge in front of the power station.
The Wrekin Eatin’ festival at Wellington Cricket Club starts at noon so plenty of time to get there before the load comes through.
If you want to see it come through, there are bridges over the M54 but be careful if you watch from the roadside after it leaves the motorway, as this truck will be using lots of the road as it winds its way to its final destination. You can see that the trees and hedges on the route have been cut back in preparation for the trip.
