A442 closed after car fire

The A442 was closed yesterday evening between Wombridge and Trench Lock after a fifteen-year-old silver Peugeot caught fire and blocked the road.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue attended at around 6pm and an hour later, the fire was out.

The vehicle was recovered at 7:30pm but the road surface needed cleaning up so the route was reopened some time later.
