Posh Frocks charity dinner set for October
An evening of entertainment and fundraising is being prepared for later this year, inviting ladies to gather for a good cause.
This annual Posh Frocks Charity Dinner has been organised for over 20 years, primarily by Kim Gilmour, and has raised approximately £36,000 for various local and national charities. It originated as a key social event for the Shropshire Business Women’s Society and is now continued by volunteers to maintain its fundraising efforts.
The event aims to raise funds for local charities, with this year’s focus on Age UK Telford & Shropshire’s 75th Anniversary Appeal. Funds are primarily raised through a Grand Hamper Raffle, corporate match funding, and sponsorship, supporting causes like Midlands Air Ambulance, Severn Hospice, and Lingen Davies in the past.
Attendees will receive a welcome drink, followed by a three-course meal, and then tea, coffee, and mints. All proceeds from the Grand Hamper Prize draw will be donated directly to the charity.
The evening’s entertainment features Sian Brennan Todd. She will share insights from her career as a cheerleader and dancer, which took her from England to America, Australia, and eventually Shrewsbury.
Ms. Brennan Todd now hosts and compares events across the country, and there’s a possibility she might even teach a few dance moves.
