Education bursaries for ‘inspiring’ Telford College trio
Three students from Telford College have been awarded bursaries by the Wellington Rotary Club to help with their higher education.
Ella Hope, Lily Titley, and Stephany Ansah Jacob received a total of £1,250 through the club’s bursary scheme. The students were selected for their clear plans for the future and their inspiring ambitions.
Ella Hope, 19, who completed a science course, is heading to Bangor University to study marine biology. She was given £800 to buy scuba diving equipment. Ella said the money will help her get into the university’s scuba diving club, which will provide both social and professional benefits.
“I loved Telford College; it’s been the most successful time in education for me,” she added.
Lily Titley was awarded £400 for a laptop with specialist software to help her with her psychology degree at Keele University.
“I was very pleasantly surprised to be chosen,” said Lily, who hopes to become a psychologist or therapist. “This will really help me get to the next step in my education.”
The final bursary of £50 was given to Stephany Ansah Jacob to help her buy a stethoscope for her midwifery degree.
Lily and Ella attended a meeting at The Pheasant in Admaston, where they explained how the bursaries would help their studies and thanked the club. Sharon Wyatt, youth lead for Wellington Rotary, said the three students truly stood out from the many applicants.
“We’re proud to support these young women as they take their next steps toward careers of service, care, and contribution, and we wish them all the very best on their journey ahead,” she said.
