£6,000 electric bike stolen from Southwater
A £6,000 electric mountain bike was stolen in the middle of the day from a popular Telford location, and is the second such theft reported to police in the area today. The Trek Rail 5 e-bike was chained up outside Costa Coffee in Southwater when it was taken.
The owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said they went into the café at about 12.10pm and when they came out around 12.40pm, the bike was gone. It had been secured to a bike rack outside the library.
West Mercia Police have been notified of the theft and are investigating. The bike owner has offered a reward for information that leads to its return. According to the owner, police informed them a second e-bike was also reported stolen today in Lawley.
The owner is now waiting on the local council to release CCTV footage, which they said will not be provided until police issue a data notice.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
