Homes at The Gower now available

New homes are now available to reserve at a Grade II listed building in St George’s with prices starting at £960 for a two-bed house.

The Gower, which was once a community hospital, is being restored with support from Telford & Wrekin Council, St George’s & Priorslee Parish Council, and Nuplace.

The restoration is part of the council’s Investing in Telford and Wrekin programme, which aims to improve the area for residents. The project is converting the south wing of the building into three two-bedroom homes.

Meanwhile, the north wing will become a new community space and offices for the parish council. This part of the project is now expected to be finished next summer, a slight delay due to extra restoration work being needed.

Ten two-bedroom new-build homes are also being constructed at the back of the site. The homes in the original building are due to be ready for residents to move into in time for Christmas.

Councillor Richard Overton, the council’s Deputy Leader, said the restoration reflected their “ongoing commitment to protect, care and invest in our Borough.”

He added: “This project will breathe new life into a much-loved building, preserving much of its original character while creating high-quality homes and a welcoming hub for local people.”

Those interested in the new homes can reserve a property through Nuplace, the council’s housing company. More information can be found on their website.
