Golf business brings a different game to Telford

Telford is home to a new business offering a different type of golf, with the launch of an indoor simulation studio. Chip Golf Studio, on Ketley Business Park, opened its doors on 1 September, providing two indoor bays with Trackman simulators, as well as drinks and coaching from a professional.

PGA professional Jaime Brittain, from Wellington, launched the business. He said the state-of-the-art technology provides real-time data to help any level of golfer improve their game.

Mr Brittain, 35, said: “It is an honour to launch Telford’s first indoor golf studio and I’m really excited about the opportunity it brings to people here. The studio has taken about two months to create but I’m pleased and proud of the result.”

Players can choose from more than 500 golf courses from around the world to play virtually, including The Old Course at St Andrews. The equipment, installed by Golf Swing Systems, can be used by anyone aged five and up.

Mr Brittain, a dad of three, is also the club professional at Wrekin Golf Club. He runs an e-commerce website, The Swing Plate, which sells practice aids for golfers.

Bookings for the studio in Ketley must be made in advance. Golfers can book a bay individually or become a member of the facility. For more information, you can find them on Instagram @chipgolfstudio or visit chipgolf.co.uk to book.
