Wellington welcomes new creative workshop studio

A new silversmithing studio has opened its doors on Crown Street in Wellington today, offering residents the chance to craft their own ethical  silver jewellery.

Located opposite the White Lion pub, the new Nicol Studio is run by trained silversmith Jenade.

She is offering workshops for all abilities and ages, from home-schooled children to hen parties.

The workshop where you can make your own Jewellery

The simplest workshop, making a silver ring, takes just one to two hours and costs £45. This price includes all materials, use of the tools, and instruction from Jenade.

Participants walk away with the finished piece they made themselves.

Jenade said the local support has been vital in getting the new venture off the ground.

“Very supportive community, and I had help from the regulars of the White Lion pub while preparing the workshops, lending a hand with the heavy stuff!” she explained.

The studio will also serve as a creative hub for local talent, showcasing products from local artists at affordable prices.

In the future, Jenade plans to expand the offering with workshops in other creative skills, such as Paint & Sip, glass crafting, and wax melts.

The space is also available to rent for other artists needing a dedicated workspace.

Bookings for workshops can be made online at https://www.nicolstudio.co.uk/
