Holyhead Road closed for resurfacing
A major stretch of the Holyhead Road in Telford is set to close for six days as resurfacing work is carried out, affecting traffic and several key bus services.
The road near Snedshill will be completely shut between 8am on Monday, 27 October, and Saturday, 1 November.
The closure includes the busy Greyhound Roundabout that crosses the A442, known locally as the Eastern Primary (EP).
The necessary resurfacing is being conducted as part of the council’s ongoing investment in the borough’s highways.
Bus operator Arriva has confirmed that several services will have to be diverted while the work takes place.
Services 4, 5, 5A, and 5B will not be able to stop at the Holyhead Road stops past the Snedshill Way junction, the Greyhound Roundabout, or Station Road.
Instead, they will be rerouted via Snedshill Way, Priorslee Road, and Canongate before picking up their usual route into Oakengates Bus Station. The reverse diversion will be in place for services heading towards Telford Bus Station.
Furthermore, the 99A and 99C services will be unable to serve Bank Way, Main Road, Greyhound Hill, Greyhound Island, and Station Road.
Full diversion details for these services are available on the bus operator’s website.
Motorists and bus passengers should expect delays and plan their journeys carefully throughout the closure period.
