Man dies in car park – police seek witnesses

Police have asked for help in finding out exactly what happened yesterday at Farmfoods in Ketley.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision between a car and pedestrian in Telford in which a man sadly lost his life.

Yesterday afternoon (Thursday 27 November) around 3pm a black Audi A1 collided with a pedestrian in the Farmfoods car park on Holyhead Road in Telford.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man was declared deceased a short time later.

We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who has dashcam footage from around the time it happened.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 2.52pm and sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews discovered a number of cars that had suffered damage and one patient, a man, who was a pedestrian.

“He was found to be in a critical condition and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.

“Sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
