Four young Warriors earn national basketball place

Shropshire Warriors are celebrating a proud moment after four rising stars from the club were selected for the prestigious Basketball England Aspire 25/26 programme. The players are now attending camps as part of their development journey.

The four young athletes represent the Telford-based club across multiple age groups and include Jasmine and Kaitlyn from the U15 Girls team, Huwie from the U13 Boys team, and Brandon from the U15 Boys team.

Their selection places them among the most promising young talents in the country. Only twelve players per age group are chosen from a national pool of around 20,000 boys and girls involved in school and club basketball.

The Aspire Programme forms the foundation of Basketball England’s talent pathway for players aged 12–15. It provides high-quality coaching to develop the technical and tactical skills needed for long-term success.

The programme is delivered in three structured stages: Aspire Skills Camps, Super-Region Camps, and the Aspire All-Star National Tournament.

Shropshire Warriors officials praised the commitment and work ethic of the selected players. They highlighted that the achievement reflects both individual dedication and the strength of the club’s youth development pathway.

As the quartet continue their Aspire journey, the club, along with teammates, coaches, and supporters, will be cheering them on every step of the way.
