Telford Toy Run a huge success

Bikers from across the region gathered at Shifnal Services yesterday to kick off the second annual motorcycle Toy Run.

Organised by the True North Bikers community group, the event saw riders from Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton, and Wales travel through the streets of Telford to support local children.

A panel van followed the parade, loaded with a collection of toys and games destined for the Princess Royal Hospital. These donations were delivered directly to the children’s ward at the end of the route.

Special guest Cllr Eileen Callear, the Mayor of Telford, joined the procession as a passenger. She travelled on a bright yellow trike named ‘Big Bird’ which was decorated for the occasion alongside many of the other machines.

The convoy left the services just after midday and finished the run at around 1:40pm. Residents lined the pavements to wave and cheer as the bikers passed through their neighbourhoods.

The event concluded with the Mayor presenting True North with a certificate. This was given in recognition of the community work the group carries out throughout the year.
