Five star Telford takeaway shuts the doors

A takeaway with excellent ratings and a five-star scores on the doors closed its doors last month.

Arjys in Trench was on the popular delivery apps, had its own website and attracted great reviews for its food but a post last month on its social media page suggested that it was closing temporarily due to staff illness.

Companies House shows two limited businesses at the address, one was dissolved in September of this year, and the other is awaiting voluntary strike off.

The owner took to a local residents group to blame the economy for closing; “Since Labour came in and increased taxes it got extremely difficult to trade. Arjys had no option but to close.

“The hospitality sector is on it’s knees due to these clowns in power. A lot of families are losing their livelihoods.”

There is little argument about the quality of the food and service.

“Every element was beautifully cooked and tasty…I get the impression the owner truly cares about supplying excellent traditional Indian cuisine.

I will be ordering again and look forward to trying more things on offer from the menu.” wrote one Google Local Guide.

Another reviewer commented “10/10 service, food and atmosphere. The man behind the counter was extremely friendly and chatty and all round a great bloke.

“Value for money was with out a doubt the best I’ve ever experienced from any takeaway ever in the country. If you are considering coming here, stop considering and make your way down.”

We have approached Arjys for comment.
