Car fire follows late night crash
Emergency services were called to Wrockwardine Road in Wellington late on Monday night following a collision. A single vehicle caught fire after the road traffic incident, which occurred just before 11pm.
One fire appliance from the Wellington station arrived to find the car well alight. Firefighters used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames. Thermal imaging cameras were also used to check the area.
West Mercia Police attended the scene alongside the fire crew. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that no one was trapped inside the vehicle. The incident was brought under control by 11.47pm.
