Walking backwards New Year’s resolution
The largest Walking Group in Shropshire is planning to walk backwards in 2026 around all 23 of the Telford Coronation Circular Walks.
Originally set up in 2024 the Group now enters its third year with 2,000 members and an average of 50 people turning out for each walk. The walks are all waymarked in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions which gives a different perspective for each route.
The Group Coronation Walks are held fortnightly on Sunday mornings, attracting a variety of different ages to explore different locations around the Borough with a particular interest in local history and nature.
A spokesperson for the Group said, “We are Amblers not Ramblers, so go at a steady pace with an average walk of 3 miles and plenty of stops to pause and enjoy the scenery. Dogs are welcome too.”
A timetable of walks for 2026 can be found on the Telford Coronation Group Walks Facebook Group.
