Cafe owners thank community for support
The owners of a biker cafe in Newport have thanked residents for their backing following a successful application to open later. Dragon Soul Biker Cafe received permission to extend its hours into the evening after a hearing this week.
Dragon Soul Biker Cafe is on Forton Road in Newport and Estonian owners Natalie and Alex started the business in 2024 as an add-on to their bike building and accessories business.
Natalie and Alex, said the result was due to a groundswell of support from the local area. Many customers attended the planning meeting in person to show their solidarity.
Alex said: “We thank you very much for all the customers, all the Newport who support us. Thank you very much it was amazing support. “
The cafe is known for its motorcycling theme but the owners emphasise that the space is for everyone. It welcomes families, dog walkers and local residents alongside the biking community.
Natalie said: “We built this place, but you, all the our customers created it as it is now. Thank you so much.”
Natalie added: “Thank you so much. Thank you Ian and Avril for your amazing support and help as a friends and the all those people who came with us for the hearing. Just being with us physically there.
“But all these people who sent a letters to support just not because of this extending hours but just because they just love this place. That’s incredible. Thank you so much. Thank you.”
