Student airlifted from school after horror fall
A year nine student at a school in Telford was airlifted to hospital in Stoke after falling from height and suffering ‘serious injuries’.
The incident happened at New Road Academy, Wrockward Wood in Telford on Monday afternoon, where a boy fell from the stairs.
The Air Ambulance was scrambled to the school.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said:
“We were called to reports of a patient who had fallen from height on New Road at 2.09pm yesterday.
“One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity was sent to the scene.
“On arrival we discovered one patient, a male teenager. He was treated for serious injuries before being airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital.”
The school confirmed that no other students were involved in the incident.
