Emergency crews respond to two crashes

Emergency services were kept busy this afternoon following two separate road traffic collisions on the outskirts of Telford.

Firefighters from Telford Central were called to the Sutton Maddock Roundabout at 2.36pm today.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash which left one driver trapped inside their car.

Crews used specialist cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle and release the casualty.

The individual was handed over to the care of West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Police also attended the scene while firefighters used small gear to make both vehicles electrically safe.

Just as that incident was being cleared, a second call was received at 3.16pm reporting a three-vehicle collision on the Parkway at Madeley.

Two appliances from Wellington and an operations officer were mobilised to the scene.

One of the vehicles involved had come to rest on its roof, though no people were found to be trapped.

Land ambulance crews and police officers were also in attendance at the Parkway.

Firefighters used small gear to deal with the incident before a stop message was received at 3.51pm.
