Firefighters tackle mattress blaze in Sutton Hill

Emergency services were called to Stebbings in Sutton Hill on Sunday afternoon following reports of a house fire.

Two crews from Tweedale and Telford Central arrived at the scene at 14:32 along with an operations officer.

The fire involved a mattress which had been set alight against the side of a property.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet and ladders to extinguish the flames and check the building.

The heat from the fire caused damage to the exterior of the house before it was brought under control.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service issued a stop message at 14:53 confirming the incident was dealt with.
