Review: The Muppet Show makes a triumphant return

Jason Wright takes a look at the 2026 reboot of a classic TV show an incredible 50 years on from the first show.

The 2026 revival of The Muppet Show is a joyful, heartfelt return to everything that made the original series so loved, while still feeling fresh and relevant for modern audiences.

The show brilliantly captures the classic Muppet charm — witty humour, clever musical numbers, and that wonderful sense of chaotic fun that only the Muppets can deliver. The writing balances nostalgia with new energy, making it enjoyable for both long-time fans and newcomers alike.

The guest appearances throughout the series are a major highlight, but I was especially impressed with Sabrina Carpenter.

She fits seamlessly into the Muppet world, showing fantastic comedic timing and a genuine enthusiasm that made her segments feel natural and lively. Her musical performance was vibrant and engaging, and she interacted with the Muppets with warmth and confidence, clearly embracing the playful spirit of the show.

Overall, The Muppet Show 2026 is a delightful success that proves the timeless appeal of these iconic characters.

With strong guest performances, sharp humour, and plenty of heart, it’s a wonderful celebration of classic entertainment done right.

I sincerely hope this is the start of a revival series that brings the Muppets back into the spotlight for years to come.
