Council launches affordable half term activities
Families across Telford and Wrekin can access a variety of action-packed sessions this month as the council unveils its February half term activity programme. Running from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 February, the scheme is designed to help young people stay active without breaking the bank.
Leisure centres and outdoor venues throughout the borough will host a mix of sessions including fun and floats, badminton, table tennis and driving range sessions. For those looking for more adventure, options include the Telford Aerial Adventure, Ski School, tobogganing and adventure golf.
Many of these activities are available for £2 with a junior TLC card. The programme also features the popular Urban Games and activities at the Bike Hub.
Councillor Angela McClements, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Tourism, Culture and the Arts, said: “We know how important it is for families to have access to affordable, active and enjoyable things to do during the school holidays. Our February Half Term Activity Programme is packed with value‑for‑money sessions across the Borough, giving children and young people the chance to try new activities, keep active and have fun close to home. We’re incredibly proud of the range on offer this year from swimming and racket sports to Ski School, cycling and outdoor adventures. Whether you’re looking for something energetic, confidence‑building or simply a great family day out, there’s something for everyone.”
Parents are being encouraged to book early for high-demand sessions such as Skate4Life crash courses, Learn to Ride and 1-to-1 cycling lessons.
Free Dr Bike checks will be available at the Telford Bike Hub alongside a selection of free Urban Games sessions held in local parks and green spaces.
