Wellington set for a flipping great day
Wellington is getting ready for a flipping great day this half term. Residents and businesses are coming together to celebrate Shrove Tuesday with plenty of fun and games.
The third Great Wellington Pancake Race takes over the town centre on Tuesday, 17 February. Organisers hope for a big turnout from the local community.
Jon Drew from the Boardroom Gaming Café in New Street is leading the event. He is working alongside local businesses and Love Wellington to coordinate the activities.
“It’s a great excuse for people from across the town to join forces,” Jon said. He promised a morning of “crazy games” and community spirit.
The event kicks off at 11am. Organisers are currently looking for more local businesses to join in the racing. Volunteers are also needed to help the morning run smoothly.
