Exciting new partnerships for college’s hair and beauty salons
Telford College has relaunched its hair and beauty training salons with two exciting new partnerships.
The college has teamed up with locally based cosmetics company Heaven to supply skincare products, and with leading global brand L’Oréal for its professional haircare range.
The partnerships were unveiled during a special pamper day at the Wellington campus, where past and present customers were invited to enjoy a selection of treatments including facials, pedicures, massages and hair consultations.
The Retreat is the college’s on-site hair and beauty salon, which not only serves as a specialist training facility, but also opens to the public. Level three students conduct treatments under the watchful eye of tutors.
Guests were also treated to afternoon tea in the college’s on-site restaurant, The Orange Tree, with donations collected for this year’s chosen charity, Stay, which supports homeless and vulnerable people across the borough.
“It was such a brilliant day,” said Jodie Allen, Telford College’s learner manager for hair, beauty and catering.
“Our students collaborated fantastically to ensure everything ran smoothly. It was excellent preparation for their future careers in the industry.
“We received some wonderful feedback from customers — from how delicious the afternoon tea was in The Orange Tree, to how much they enjoyed their treatments and the chance to experience our new Heaven products.”
Both L’Oréal and Heaven donated prizes for a charity hamper draw, with all proceeds going to Stay.
The Heaven team — including founder and former Telford College student Deborah Mitchell — attended the event to support students and see their products being used in the salons. Deborah also spent time speaking one-to-one with learners, offering industry insights and product knowledge.
She said: “We are extremely proud to announce our partnership with Telford College as they relaunch The Retreat, where students receive hands-on training in hair and beauty.
“As part of this exciting collaboration, students will be fully equipped with Heaven Skincare products, giving them the tools to learn and excel in their craft. We can’t wait to see the amazing talent that emerges from this programme.”
Jodie added: “This launch marks the beginning of a partnership with Heaven that goes far beyond simply using their products. We are incredibly fortunate to be working with them.
“We’re looking forward to collaborating closely with the Heaven team over the coming months to ensure our beauty students are trained to the highest standard and can look forward to exciting, fulfilling and rewarding careers.”
The Retreat at Telford College is open to the public for a range of treatments, including Heaven facials and hair services. Appointments are available Monday to Friday. For more details, call 01952 642466.
