Gloucester man sentenced for Telford shop thefts
A 44-year-old man has appeared before magistrates following two of thefts from a Telford convenience store.
David Reece, of Barn Farm, Norton Park, Gloucester, appeared at Telford Magistrates’ Court on 10 February 2026.
The court heard that the offences took place at Co-op stores in Telford during April 2025. Reece pleaded to guilty to both charges.
On 21 April 2025, Reece stole packets of bacon and a bottle of Pepsi Max. The items were valued at £55.00.
Two days later, on 23 April 2025, he returned to the store and stole a Barnardo’s charity tin. The tin was estimated to contain approximately £100.00 in donations.
Magistrates ordered Reece to pay compensation to the victims. He must pay £55.00 for the stolen goods and £50.00 in relation to the charity tin. No order for court costs was made.
