Brookside man sentenced for shoplifting and breaching court order
A Brookside man has appeared before magistrates after stealing meat and beer from Telford supermarkets.
Jason Martin, 38, of Beaconsfield, Brookside, pleaded guilty to multiple charges at Telford Magistrates’ Court on 20 February 2026.
The court heard that on 24 September 2025, Martin stole joints of meat worth £130 from Aldi.
He also admitted to stealing £15 worth of beer from the Co-op on 15 February 2026.
By entering the Co-op in Stirchley, Martin breached a Criminal Behaviour Order. The order had been imposed by the same court in March 2025.
Magistrates sentenced Martin to a community order. This will run until 19 February 2027.
He must complete up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
Martin was ordered to pay £130 in compensation to Aldi and £15 to the Co-op. He was also fined £100.
The court noted that his guilty pleas were taken into account during sentencing. No order for costs was made as the court preferred the money to go towards compensation.
